Wellness Wednesdays

Writer: Tamatha WardTamatha Ward

As some of you may know October kicked off our Wellness Wednesday meetings.

This post is a brief recap of our Domestic violence and abuse talk. We discussed that while 95% of "reported" cases are women but men suffer violence and abuse as well and are less likely to report it due to shame or embarrassment. We shared our stories and encouraged one another. We prayed for those who are going through and remembered friends and loved ones who lost their lives to Domestic Violence. This is never an easy conversation but one we absolutely cannot continue to keep in silence about. It is not always spousal abuse or Domestic partners abuse happens with employers and even in our learning environments. #Every1knowsSome1 break the silence you're not alone.

Our next talk will deal with Mental Health. For those suffering from depression, SAD, anxiety and panic attacks. Stay well, bless you all.
